Love of life inspires this award-winning artist. Debby Sneed’s exciting acrylic abstractions resonate with an ever-evolving culmination of motion, color and light.

Debby has lived in Mobile, Alabama since 1983. She is married to Dr. Elwood Sneed, a Dentist and fellow artist. Her son, Jason Sneed, is currently a pre-med student. Debby was a freelance court reporter until a debilitating illness left her hearing-impaired, forcing her into retirement from her profession. Her husband recognized her intuitive creativity and encouraged her to develop her artistic abilities. At her home studio she continuously works to expand her understanding of color theory, composition, and the unlimited potential of acrylic media.

Her skillful use of bold colors is the element that allows free interpretation of her work. Delicious colors and active forms mingle with each other to create waves of feelings that match those of the artist at the time of creation. Her art takes on a life its own that invites the observer to abandon their emotional restraints and explore their own internal feelings. Colorful forms fly, float, and free-fall as they tickle the imagination. Each piece is a joy to contemplate….a source of mediation that comforts the soul.
